Some points of interest:
• Puente de la Mujer – Gorriti Juana Manuela 900.
Inspired by tango, this landmark rotating footbridge was designed by Santiago Calatrava.
El Puente de la Mujer (Women’s Bridge) is one of the most famous landmarks in the neighbourhood of Puerto Madero. The rotating footbridge was the first work from Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava in Latin America and demonstrates Buenos Aires’ constant effort to position itself at the vanguard of art and architecture in the region.
The bridge represents a couple dancing tango, with the white mast symbolising the man and the curve of the bridge, the woman. It has a large turning mechanism, allowing it to swing open to allow sailing ships to pass. The bridge was constructed in Spain and donated to Buenos Aires through a private donation.
• Teatro Colón – Cerrito 618, CABA.
Don’t miss one of the world’s most majestic opera houses, acclaimed for its architecture and acoustics.
Renowned for its phenomenal acoustics and stunning architecture, the Colón theatre is considered one of the best opera houses in the world, together with La Scala in Milán, the Opera Garnier in Paris and the Royal Opera House in London.
• Caminito – Valle Iberlucea del Dr y Magallanes.
Take a stroll through Buenos Aires’ famously colourful street museum.
Located in La boca, the Caminito (little path, in Spanish) is a street museum of colourful painted houses typical of the immigrant dwellings that came to chracterise this portside area towards the end of the 19th and start of the 20th century.
There are several works by Argentine artists incorporated as part of the street museum and the Caminito has become a favourite with visitors to the city. Several restaurants offer tango and folk dance shows and street fills with artists offering original crafts and paintings.
• Galerias Pacifico Shopping – Florida 753. Gape at this luxurious shopping center that’s a true architectural gem.
Galerías Pacífico is one of the city’s most opulent shopping centres, and many people visit just to see its installations and its dome, which is painted with murals by Argentine artists Antonio Berni, Lino Enea Spilimbergo, Demetrio Urruchúa and Juan Carlos Castagnino.
It contains specialized leather stores as well as international names, and a food court. Personal shoppers are available with pre-booking, and the center provides facilities for children, a bureau de change, ATMs and a premium taxi service.
The center is also home to the Centro Cultural Borges, the venue for a tango school as well as art exhibitions and workshops.

• Museums to visit for free:
1. National Historic Museum – Defensa 1600.
2. Casa Rosada Museum Av. Paseo Colón 100.
In one of the city’s most important buildings, this museum opened in the year 2011 to celebrate the bicentenary of Argentina’s revolution of Independence. The museum is located behind the Casa Rosada governmental palace and is a must for anyone interested in history and architecture.

3. Immigration Museum – Av. Antártida Argentina 1355.
This fascinating museum tell the story of the immigrants who arrived in Argentina from Europe, Asia and Africa in the 19th century and continue to arrive largely from elsewhere in South America today. This is a journey that reveals some of the origins of the city’s idiosyncrasies.
4. Quinquela Martín Museum – Av. Don Pedro de Mendoza 1835.
This museum has a large collection of oil paintings and etchings made by the artist Benito Quinquela Martín between 1922 and 1967, as well as work by other artists representative of some of the big movements in Argentine art during the 20th century. There’s also a collection of ship figureheads, making the museum as intriguing as the neighborhood where it’s located – the colorful La Boca.

Moving around Buenos Aires:
On Cordoba & Alem Avenue there are several buses nearby the apt.
